Reely Jiggered Featured
Described as "perfect ambassadors for Scotland"; the dynamic, fiddle led trio Reely Jiggered have been wowing their audiences with their fast and furious performances of Traditional and Contemporary Celtic and Folk Music since 2008 and will play two performances for us on 4 September.
Based in Glasgow and the West of Scotland, Reely Jiggered have performed at many prestigious events and venues including Edinburgh Castle for Historic Scotland, Stirling Castle, Hafton Castle, Dean Castle, Oran Mor, CCA, The Tall Ship Glenlee, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Tall Ships Races, Largs' Viking Festival, Gourock Highland Games, Glasgow West End Festival, The Cowal Games, Glasgow University Union and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland to name a few. Reely Jiggered made their debut appearance at Celtic Connections 2013 on the Danny Kyle Open Stage.
Their lead fiddler was a semi-finalist in the BBC Young Traditional Musician of the year 2012 and their debut Album was released in 2011 to critical acclaim with air play on BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Radio 3 and as far afield as Germany, Australia, USA and Mexico. Reely Jiggered often perform at Cultural Events for the Egyptian and Bangladeshi communities, as well as festivals, corporate and charity events.
Reely Jiggered were filmed as part of CBeebies childrens programme "Woolly and Tig" which will be aired later this year. They have taken their music into schools and have given workshops of Scottish Music and Heritage supported by Creative Scotland. Reely Jiggered’s fresh and lively approach to Celtic and Folk music is innovative and incorporative of many worldly ethnic styles which appeals to a very large audience.
