The Festival Board are looking to expand the shopping experience provided at our annual Viking Festival in order to provide locals and visitors with a wide variety of choice and quality goods produced locally, regionally and globally. This year we will have three markets which will operate from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. daily.

The Scottish Food and Craft Market is already well established and will operate every day from 30 August until 7 September with locally produced food and craft goods.

The Vintage Market is a new venture bringing an additional element of nostalgia and affordable vintage fashion and accessories from the 1920s and on. This market will operate on 30 and 31 August only.

The Global Market is a new development which expands on the Continental Market and operates from 3 to 7 September although a few of the traders will be operating from 30 August. Specialities include noodles, tartifellete, Morrocan cuisine, German sausage, Italian Coffee, garden ornaments, Peruvian crafts, Italian bags and scarves, Thai crafts and much, much more.

Also on both weekends there will be street food vendors and outside stalls that will include various local groups and charities.

It is hoped that the expansion of the markets will also benefit the local economy by attracting more visitors.

Paul Bush OBE, Chief Operating Officer for EventScotland said: "We are delighted to once again be supporting Largs Viking Festival and we hope that the fantastic programme of entertainment that the Festival Board have created will help to raise the profile of Largs, boost the local economy and attract visitors to North Ayrshire and Scotland."
